Creating new pathways

on letting fear in

“Only you will ever truly know when it is time to immerse
yourself into those waters [of fear], and the guarantee is that along the way,
you may end up finding the pathway back to a long-lost friend whom you
parted ways with long before fear came knocking upon your doors.”

I’ve been thinking about fear of late: How we fear what we fear. How fear will have us clinging to what is around us all in the name of guaranteed certainty. How we allow ourselves to face the fears we have. And how we eventually find the courage to move forward despite it all.

While not trying to have my mind racing with too many thoughts, I decided to make a 4-minute meditative poem on fear.

These past few weeks, though laced with some unexpected losses, have also come with wonderful adventures and the short videos are from some of the excursions I’ve been on in South Africa and my March trip in Malawi.

May courage light the path ahead toward our fears!
